That’s okay, don’t feel weird about it! I am sure you are working hard on it and it’ll be worth the wait!

I hope the lo specs version is out any day now!

knock knock! It’s the end of the month haha!

Any progress on the lo specs version of the game?

Hi. So the game page says there would also be a low specs version of the game. Any news if that’s happening? God knows this game has had issues with meeting deadlines!

Thank you, Sam, for this message and for clarifying the ‘insults’ misunderstanding. I can empathise with the stress you and the team has been under and I also agree with the post above suggesting that for future projects, you either don’t announce hard deadlines or announce realistic ones and give yourself plenty of time, including time for unforeseen troubleshooting. I am a huge fan of your work and it’s precisely because we all love your work that we get upset when deadlines are pushed back- we are eager to see your work! Having said that, I would also like to apologise if my previous messages have come off as rude or annoyingly persistent. You make great games so obviously people get a little mad when they have to wait longer for it! If anything, the many many posts and messages here are proof of just how popular your games are! :D

I don’t think the comments and posts here should be considered ‘insults’ because all everyone (including me) was saying (and continue to say) is that this game’s development and release were frustratingly disappointing. The delays were inexcusable and some of the previous updates were evidently dishonest (please remember that this game has been delayed over 10 times in the last 2.5 months since the original release date). I think it’s unacceptable and misleading for the devs to now turn this on their customers and say that everyone was “insulting” when they were legitimately demanding honesty and transparency. We didn’t insult you- you insulted yourselves by announcing unrealistic deadlines and release dates and repeatedly failing to meet expectations that you generated in the first place! I think you should accept your mistakes with humility and understand what you have put your customers and loyal fans through rather than make yourselves out to be the victims here! Also, I have not received my key (I pre ordered on itch) yet. And what’s the news on the low specs version of the game- how long will it take for that to be released?

Quick, someone make sure these guys are not in charge of the NYE countdown- we’d be stuck in 2023 forever!

I mean honestly, I don’t get any of this. Why does this game even need a separate activation key?? Or, as someone else has pointed out, need to be emailed to people individually? At this point the excuses are getting more desperate and unreal and I just don’t have anything to say. Either this is the most complex game ever designed or the most basic scam ever. The verdict is still out on this but not for much longer.

Is it releasing, finally? Or is there another one of those convenient delays? Haha

Hahaha! Another delay- who would have guessed!? Anyway, you better hope that the game is indeed “something truly special” because otherwise you will be blacklisted as a dev and no one will ever pre-order a game from you. I would have been completely alright with waiting longer, months even, if only you had told us upfront, and a long time ago, exactly how many weeks/months this would take. It is just very dishonest to keep posting delays on the scheduled date of release- over and over and over again!!!

Counting down to the release now- and really hoping there are no more sudden delays *fingers crossed*

Amazing- can’t wait!

Is the release still on track for 30 Nov?

It’s alright- I cannot be angry with you for too long haha! Take your time and take care of yourself. Whenever the game is out, I am sure it’ll be worth all the delays!

Thanks for this- looks like a lot of fun! And this is exactly the kind of updates we would all really appreciate. Reading regular updates gives us all a sense of participating in the game making process and this really helps waiting for the release- with regular updates, I am sure none of us mind delays!!

Delayed till 30 November?! That’s almost three more weeks/20 days! At this point, I am genuinely disappointed at your team’s inability to meet deadlines. This game was supposed to release on 21 September- it’s late by over two months. I don’t think anyone believes in your words or your timelines anymore- even this deadline for 30 Nov doesn’t feel honest. I appreciate the work that you do and I have loved your previous games but this is really really unacceptable. Please be honest with us, and make sure you post updates every 2-3 days telling us exactly what the issues or bugs are and what’s going on. Vague delays will not be accepted anymore!

I have to admit, this radio silence is rather annoying. And to think that the original release date for this game was 21 September! I am honestly appalled at the dev’s time management- this is unacceptable. Given how they have delayed the release 4 times already, any more excuses will be precisely that, excuses. This game’s devs need to come clean on what is going on and be honest about how much work is incomplete. I doubt they even had a running build on original scheduled date (when they announced a whole month’s delay) and I wouldn’t be too surprised if they don’t have one even now. I think such irresponsible time management needs to be called out, especially when you have asked customers to pre order!

Thank you for replying- and I didn’t mean to criticise you but only highlighted how it looks when you post a delay on the scheduled release date. I completely understand that time management and creativity are not always easy to balance. I am also a huge admirer of your work and I have enjoyed your previous games- your work is excellent and speaks for itself! And thank you for saying that you’ll be regular in posting updates on progress- that would help us all understand the process better and make the wait easier! I am perfectly happy to wait for a month, or even longer, for something so amazing to be completed, just as long as you keep us informed :)

This is really disappointing because the timing of the announcement makes it sound disingenuous. Delays are part of the development process and nothing people won’t understand. However, waiting for the scheduled release date to announce a WHOLE MONTH’S delay is extremely unprofessional. It is hardly possible that the reason cited for the delay (securing investment to expand the game) is something that the dev discovered just today, on the release date! And a month’s delay is not your standard last minute checks and debug delay- which can’t be more than a few days at best. What this says is that this was a planned delay, and that the dev deliberately kept everyone in the dark until the last minute. We’re all perfectly happy to wait longer and we all understand delays because of other concerns and priorities that might crop up- that’s not remotely the problem. The problem is being honest and transparent about the process. Of course, given how so many other devs just randomly disappear for years without giving any explanation for their unfinished projects, it is still commendable that you told us about this delay. Better late than never, I guess.
